ArtCAM Pro allows you to produce high quality, detailed and intricate designs and enables you to have shorter delivery times and more competitive pricing.
*Increase the efficiency of your existing design and manufacture process, therefore increasing your productivity, cutting costs and increasing your profit.
*Expand the range of products and services you offer to both existing and new customers.
*Increase the efficiency of your existing processes as well as exploiting new capabilities.
*Gain business from your competitors who don’t have the technology.
*Take on projects that you would never have done in the past.
*The automated manufacturing process gives you the fastest time from on-screen design to finished piece. Use the integrated machining wizard for producing designs on a wide range of CNC machine tools, or output files for rapid prototyping.
*New product design & development work can be kept ‘In-house’ and confidential.Work With Greater Flexibility:
You can design in ArtCAM in a number of ways: design directly from scanned sketches or drawings, create vectors, work with colors to generate 3D areas of your designs or sculpt and shape your 3D relief model. You can also use the extensive 3D relief libraries and add your own relief’s to develop your own libraries for the future or for creating ranges of your designs.
You can work purely within ArtCAM to design and model, or alternatively bring artwork and data in from a variety of sources including:
*2D scanned images, conceptual sketches or photos.
*Images from other software and paint packages.
*Digitized or laser scanned data.
*CAD surface or solid models. You can then output your finished work to over 200 machine tools, import or export files in STL format for rapid prototyping, 3D Laser engraving or working with other CAD systems. ArtCAM provides you with the flexibility and capability you need to create fantastic models.Increase what you can offer:
ArtCAM will help you secure new business, which currently you have been unable to bid on, or have had to sub-contract out. ArtCAM customers are often amazed how much referral work they pick up. The variety of work you can produce gives you a competitive edge over all the other companies doing the “same old thing”.Repeat designs within product ranges:
When making multiple parts, the ability to re-use existing models makes families of products or ‘theme’ jobs much more profitable. This means that with a few man-hours programming you can setup many parts to run one after the other, even through the night to make variations or copies of the product. Why Should I Purchase A Delcam Product?

*Points: 0 Hey Matt! They are both very good packages! I stopped using artcam at ver 8, so I’m not up to speed on where it is after that. I use Aspire now, and haven’t regretted switching at all. Both will get you from A to B with great results! You have to compare apples to apples though. I believe that by the time you buy the AC modules to bring it up to what Aspire offers, it is more expensive. I switched due to the PIA of having a dongle to remember, plus the monthly maintenance was around $150 month for the updates. If you buy Aspire, you own it. I think with AC your really just renting it. I didn’t like the idea of having to insure a dongle. You won’t be unhappy either way with the results, maybe just the price! I also didn’t like the ’Prove you bought the software before we help you’ attitude on the AC forums. BUT.......I haven’t been back there in a really long time 8)JWO Art Cam vs. Aspire 14 May 2014 16:33

*Points: 0 One area of discussion that doesn’t seem to get enough exposure is support. I’m not talking about a forum or support from another user. That’s the dividing line for me. ArtCam has trained experts, and one is assigned to each purchaser of their product. When I come across a step that has me stumped, the answer is but a phone call away. Another real advantage is learning new techniques to solve my problem. It’s seldom happens that I don’t learn new methods and techniques when I make a call to their support staff. When a person is in production it’s necessary to keep the work flowing. That’s where ArtCam stands away.ArtCam does offer some special product lines Jewelers and coin makers. Their product line goes beyond Aspire although both are good programs. Art Cam vs. Aspire 15 May 2014 10:58

*Points: 280 Once again there’s a lot misinformation and innuendos that gets posted to these forums about software comparison.Mat my suggestion to you is download the trial version of Aspire and ArtCam InsigniaTry them both and see what works for you, then pick up the phone and call the support rep and valuate that.Again I will spell out ArtCam maintenance, (AAP) this is an optional feature you can purchase, it is not a requirement. If you purchase ArtCam you get any sp upgrades to that version at no charge the same as with Aspire. If you purchase the optional AAP then that includes the major release version as well as updates plus unlimited support by trained personnel, access to the AAP site and more. With Aspire you have to purchase the next major release as it becomes available.Yes ArtCam runs under a dongle, pros about that is you can load it on as many computers as you like you’re not limited with the number of install as with Aspire. You have added security with a dongle. The cons, you need to move the dongle to which ever computer you wish to use, but since most already do that with usb drives is it really a con or just an inconvenience?Gary Art Cam vs. Aspire 15 May 2014 11:16

*Points: 280I also didn’t like the ’Prove you bought the software before we help you’ attitude on the AC forums.Jamie,I see a number of users running crack versions of Aspire and ArtCam. The people on the ArtCam forum got sick of people with illegal software asking for help how to use it, so it was implemented that you can become verified by registering your dongle # (no different than registering for the forum)its done internally and a verified label is added to your avatar, you can then also access the verified section.I don’t know how many times I’ve seen people with known crack versions of Aspire get help on the Vectric forum.I don’t know about you, but when I help someone with software I expect that they legally obtained it so commend the Delcam staff for implementing the verified section on the AC forumGary Art Cam vs. Aspire 15 May 2014 20:46

*Points: 5830 Hi Gary,I’m not being flip here, I’d really like to know... I run Aspire because I was a newbie when I bought my CNC and didn’t even know Art Cam existed. What do you do that I can’t do with Aspire? If your answer is compelling, I might buy Art Cam also. Heck, we are in business and time is valuable. Saved time or better performance pays for a program in a relatively short time if you are in this for the long haul. Take the gloves off and sell me. :Jamie: Art Cam vs. Aspire 16 May 2014 20:42

*Points: 280 Hi John,Just a short bit of history, Delcam commenced in 1977 and is recognized as one of the leading cad/cam developers, actually ArtCam is not their major product division and is only about 19 years old.Tony and Brian who worked for Delcam/ArtCam and left around 2005 to start Vetric with the v-carve 2d software which has now includes Aspire. As of February Delcam became an independant subsidiary of Autodesk (Autocadd is not their main product division either) but both products will benefit from this. *Points: 2170 I’ve been using vectric.I’ve meet several of the staff at Vectric and they are all great people.I’ve had a few technical questions and needed help a few times. If you send them an email you generally get an answer next day. They are on complete different time zone since they are in the UK.There are several ways to get answers in their forums.Plus there are several instructional videos available online. They are helpful. *Points: 0 Brian,Looks like you have what’s needed for your situation.Perhaps I didn’t explain very well one of the reasons many of us stay with ArtCam. O, by the way, I have both programs.Aside from rapid assistance I receive there’s another major factor. That’s the continual learning experience I receive each time I pick up the phone with a problem. If you have Skype the ArtCam pro can see exactly what issue you are having. And can take over, making corrections, or allowing you to while he looks on. It always turns into a learning experience which is invaluable to me. This is the ultimate in my CNC experience. Each of us find their way. My requirements may not be like yours but everyone should know how ArtCam supports their customers. That’s often not understood.
